In the spirit of Memorial Day, members of the Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) donated their time and manpower on Tuesday, June 1st, to work in conjunction with the Rebuilding Together Long Island team to rebuild a decaying, dated wheelchair ramp for a home in Hempstead that houses disabled veterans. The installation of the new ramp will allow the veterans, some of which are wheelchair bound, to receive the medical attention that they need; enabling them to come and go from their home with ease.

we are so proud of our first project being such a success! we spent the past weekend building a wheelchair ramp for mr and mrs suttles in asheville, north carolina. they've been married for over 50 years and they are the sweetest couple, still very much in love. mrs suttles has been in a wheelchair for the past few years, and whenever she needed to go somewhere, mr suttles would lovingly help her out of her chair, and support her while she struggled to take the steps down to the walkway. now with their new ramp, she and her husband are able to go outside and enjoy the fresh air will a little more ease.

BC Ferries Negligent to Disabled People

Jan 28th, 2011. BC Ferries is supposed to park disabled travelers at the wheelchair accessible spots closest to the elevator. They are supposed to ask you if you need access to the elevator when paying at the booth. In the 3 years that I have been traveling with BC Ferries, I hadn't been asked even once. This video is about a woman in a wheelchair who couldn't get to the elevator because BC Ferries had parked a car in front of the wheelchair access ramp onto the sidewalk. Caring and concerned by-standers and ONE BC Ferries worker had to lift the lady onto the sidewalk so she could access the elevator. Shame on BC Ferries, this has been an ongoing problem for YEARS.

Video of my Vans after someone set them on fire during the night-I am in desperate need of a reliable van. I am handicapped and use an electric wheelchair to get around. I need a ford van that I can have a ramp put on for my wheelchair. If anyone can help me please contact me. My vans were not covered by insurance and this was a total loss. I don't understand this senseless arson.
